Two men who died in the Lodi, California area last week in separate incidents have been identified by officials.

Two Men Killed In Lodi Accidents Last Week IdentifiedThe first man was identified by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office as 39-year-old Enrique Rangel Barrera. Barrera, from Acampo, was the motorcyclist who collided with a semi-truck in Escalon.

According to reports from California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 9 am on July 22nd on Escalon Bellota Road, just north of Milton Road. The truck was traveling north and slowing down in preparation for making a left turn onto Milton Road. At this time, a motorcycle traveling south at a high rate of speed collided with the rear axles of the truck.

CHP said it appeared that Barrera was unable to slow down in time to avoid colliding with the truck. According to reports Barrera was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.

The second man was identified as 59-year-old Eric Beausheur, a Lodi resident who died in a house fire on July 23rd.

The Lodi Fire Department responded to a fire around 5 pm on July 23rd at a one-story home on Magnolia Court. When they arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke pouring out of the structure.

Firefighters were able to immediately extract a woman from the house and get her transported to San Joaquin General Hospital where she was treated.

Crews were able to contain the fire in the two rooms it originated in, though flames entered the ceiling and attic. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control within 20 minutes. Upon investigation, after the fire was knocked down, crews found a man, later identified as Beausheur, in a room at the back of the house. Reports state he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire and may release further details later as they are learned.
